A full rounded life
At what end do you get that?
and how come hormones play such a huge part in females?
we have all sorts of names for it
it can be the simple Period
OR
The time of the month
The monthly curse
The wretched week
In chinese
i think they call it DA YI MA
Dont ask me for the Chinese characters Dammit.
You know i suck at Chinese. O.o
So. back to my topic.
Are women that affected by this week of surging hormones
thats leads us to blame our horrific emotions and actions on it?
The common saying
'Ohhh, im PMS-ing, due to erratic hormones'
Its almost like a free ticket to having a guilt-free bad week
where you can behave however you like (almost) and totally get away with it
Because cmon! its the hormones talking! not her!
But, if we were never exposed to the subject/notion of hormones
are we able to easily pin-point it?
And also, are all women culprits and agressors of this hormonal change?
Are there no women who chill-laxes all the time?
No women who is able to get a grip at their emotions?
Im not saying im one of the chilled women
you can totally put me at the other extreme,
with the rest of the emotionally troubled women
holding cardboards that says 'contemplating suicide' or 'fragile' or 'shoot me'
i think i'm bordering along the lines of their category
Any moment i could be joining them, probably making up new statements like 'suicide's my new best friend' or smthn like that.
yes, i can be that emotional
Im not proud of it
But least i dare to admit it
in this little outlet of mine
and what strikes me is how easily im able to pinpoint my occasional emotional hiccups to my hormones
I feel like im not giving my hormones enough credit
like there's no explanation
it just my hormones
and my hormones has no say in it except me.
If i ever do meet my hormones and engage in a verbal talk
hormones would probably kick me in the nuts ( I dont exactly have that, but i just like the figurative speech)
it would tell me to stop blaming my mundane issues on it (it being hormones)
I guess women are socialized to think that hormones make them emotional
if i had never come across this term in Biology and in my storybooks, i probably would not have known this ever existed.
YOU THINK WOMEN IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES KNOW WHAT'S PMS?
they are bitter due to their predicament
i dont think they have time to blame their issues on hormones.
So case on point,
maybe we are structured to think that we'll get emotional
as the period week draws nearer
we know we'll explode. rather implode inside
and we'll instinctively know that PMS week is gonna materialize and happen.
its a vicious cycle of anticipation and dread when the period comes.
OR
it could be the weaker females that are unable to get hold of themselves
We are supposed to battle PMS
fight it and control
withheld all irrational emotional thoughts till it subsides.
Is that the way to go?
As ive mentioned irrational
it is true and well known
its irrational
No one deserves to be a victim of PMS
sadly, most guys on the universe are victims
they fall prey to their girlfriends, wives, sisters, aunts, mums. whatnots.
You have a female in your life?
you most probably Got victimized by PMS.
The thing is
every guy deals with it differently
some take it with a pinch of salt
some shrug it off
some go MIA for that week
some in rare cases, do everything in their power to beat the power of irrational hormones.
Ive had my share of all the 'somes' listed above
and i dont blame any guy for doing whatever it is that they are doing.
If you get a nice guy to be with you through ure thick and thin
good for you.
If you get a guy who avoids stepping on your toes
at least bothers to avoid stepping on your toes
But what happens, when you expect your guy to do a certain way?
and it complicates things
where do you draw the line of what should be done and what should not have been said?
In every relationship,
lines are not clear cut lines anymore
lines are blurred
boundaries are constantly redrawn.
sometimes,
you dont know that you have crossed over and stepped into a landmine and gotten your feet blown off.
as morbid as it is
it happens.
i know the feeling.
kinda makes you wonder whether why i bother to talk about it in the first place.
